At Lyons Electrical, we believe a strong team culture is built not only through the work we do, but through the moments we share together outside the workplace. This month, our employees and a few of our close industry contacts swapped their tools for helmets as we headed to Bayford Meadows in Sittingbourne for a high adrenaline team building event of go-kart racing.

Fuelled by Friendly Competition

From the moment we arrived at the track, the excitement was buzzing. After a safety briefing and a few practice laps, the competitive spirit kicked in. Whether you were overtaking like a pro or mastering the art of taking corners smoothly, there was plenty of laughter, cheering, and a bit of friendly rivalry along the way.

The team gave it their all, racing hard but always in good spirits. It was brilliant to see colleagues working together, encouraging one another, and celebrating each other's wins big or small.

Strengthening Connections on and Off the Track

In addition to bringing our own staff closer together, the event was also a fantastic opportunity to strengthen relationships with our close contacts. Sharing a fun and energetic experience outside the workplace helped create new connections and reinforce existing ones, all while enjoying something completely different from the day to day routine.

Fun Had by All

By the end of the event, everyone left with huge smiles (and maybe a few stories of near misses on the corners!). The event was a reminder of why team building matters because when people feel connected, supported, and energised, they bring their best selves back into the workplace.

Looking Ahead

This won’t be the last time Lyons Electrical brings the team together for something fun. We’re committed to building a workplace where people enjoy working and enjoy spending time together. After the success of this outing, we’re already thinking about what our next team building adventure should be!
